EPL: What Manchester United will do to Mourinho because of Pogba – Jermane Jenas

Former Premier League star, Jermane Jenas has stated that Manchester United will sack manager, Jose Mourinho because of Paul Pogba.

He said that the club will be ready to replace the Portuguese gaffer before they decide to sell Pogba.

In his press conference yesterday, Mourinho attempted to shut down rumours of a growing feud between himself and the French midfielder.

He claimed he had “no problems at all” and that he has “never been so happy with him as I am now.”

Mourinho said this after Pogba had claimed after the opening Premier League game of the season that he could not speak his mind about the manager for fear of getting fined.

The unrest has seen Pogba linked with a move to Barcelona.

However, Jenas told Express Sport, “I can only see going one way unfortunately. I don’t think it will go Mourinho’s way.

“I think they would [rather get rid of Mourinho] because as a club it makes more sense to do so.

“Players are so powerful these days and then there’s the amount of money that Paul Pogba makes that football club, the amount of pull in terms of players coming to the club with Pogba there, the fact he makes them genuinely better as a team.

“They can replace Mourinho with another very good manger, there are plenty out there, and that’s the unfortunate position we’re in.

“There is no way Manchester United are going to sell Paul Pogba to Barcelona in this window when they’ve got nobody to replace him with. It’s not happening.

“So part of me goes ‘Paul, if you’ve got something to say, just say it because you’ve got plenty of money in the bank so you can pay the fine’.

“But part of me also goes ‘why? Just keep your mouth shut and get on with the football’.

“Everything has been going so well. He’s just come off the back of a brilliant World Cup, people’s thought process towards you now in England is very different from how it was when he left for the tournament.

“There were issues around whether he was a luxury or not.

“But he’s gone to the World Cup, put in brilliant performances, lifted the trophy and I want him to continue that at Manchester United.”
