The Nigerian Army has said that troops of sector 3 deployed in operation Lafiya Dole on Friday evening repelled an attack by Boko Haram terrorists on Arege community in Borno state.

According to the Army in a statement, several members of the terrorist group were killed while others fled with gunshot wounds during the encounter.

However, six soldiers were said to have sustained various degrees of injuries and are currently receiving medical attention at a military facility.

One vehicle was recovered from the insurgents, while three gun trucks were destroyed by the troops.
